About St. John's Cathedral
St. John's Church was dedicated in 1816 by Rt. Rev. Middleton and after extensive renovation was rededicated by Rt.Rev. Dr. R. Paulraj on Easter Sunday the 3rd April 1988. It belongs to CSI Tiruchirappalli Thanjavur Diocese. The Tiruchirappalli Thanjavur Diocese is a diocese of Church of South India in Tamil Nadu state of India. The diocese is one among the 22 dioceses of Church of South India and this diocese was one of the first 14 dioceses to be formed at the inaugural of the Church of South India in 1947.
